“If a person is living out his destiny, he knows everything he needs to know. There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure”
The Alchemist (Paulo Coelho)
“The only impossible journey is the one you never begin”
“I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The function of man is to live, not to exist”
“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone”
Neale Donald Walsch
“I learned many great lessons from my father, not the least of which was that you can fail at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love”
“One day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted. Do it now”
The Global Mike Reid Adventure Series
Northern Lights and Sheep Testicles
I can’t necessarily say that “The Land of Ice and Snow” has ever held a place of residence on my travel bucket list, nor was it really even a thought in my mind prior to flipping the pages of an ‘Outside’ magazine while waiting to be adjusted in the office of my chiropractor…but then again, that’s when some of the best and most profound experiences present themselves; when you least expect them.
Needless to say, this adventure will be one to remember, especially the painful and encroaching numbness of my feet after we swam to a glacier and retreated back to shore. This of course is not to be topped by the salty taste of Þorramatur (sheep testicles fermented in milk) and the ensuing stomach workout as I gagged uncontrollably. Check out the video.Video Series →
